What is Profhilo?

Skin Boosters, also known as the ‘injectable moisturiser’, include treatments like profhilo. Profhilo injections can transform crepey, ageing skin on the face, neck, hands and even the knees, making it appear smoother, fresher, and healthier looking by providing long-lasting hydration at the same time as stimulating collagen and elastin production.

How does Profhilo work?

Profhilo is injected just below the surface of the skin in 10 spots on the face or neck, where it quickly disperses and reacts with the tissue to instantly boost hydration.

This treatment promises to not only hydrate and condition the skin, but the bio remodelling action also directly stimulates 4 types of collagen and elastin to firm and smooth the skin improving facial contour for a natural, more youthful appearance!

What is Profhilo used to treat?

The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck, and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity.

Am I suitable for Profhilo?

Anyone who presents with even very subtle signs of ageing is suitable to have Profhilo. We advise anybody from age 30 upwards. The treatment is suitable for both men and women, as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.

Does Profhilo hurt?

Profhilo is relatively pain free, although some clients say the injections sting very briefly. However, at most - the pain is very mild and there is no downtime with this treatment being a simple procedure.

Immediately after the procedure you may see small raised bumps at the site of the injections, which can take up to 24 hours to settle.

How long Does Profhilo last?

The treatment itself will take between 30 minutes to 1 hour, with 10 injection sites on the face and neck - and we’ll take the treatment at a pace you’re comfortable with. The results from this treatment last 6-12 months, and two treatments are recommended four weeks apart.

The full effects are usually seen one month after the second treatment, and further injections to maintain the effect can be used every six months if required.

What to do before your Profhilo Treatment?

Before your treatment you should avoid anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen, and any kind of alcohol. Both of these can increase the appearance of bruising after the treatment.
