What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a procedure that exfoliates your skin, getting rid of dirt and vellus hairs (a.k.a Peach Fuzz) and gently removing the superficial layers of dead skin cells to help reveal a brighter and smoother complexion. The treatment leaves skin smooth and perfectly prepped for make-up.

How does Dermaplaning work?

This treatment is carried out using a sterile medical grade blade. Dead skin cells are what make your complexion look dull, and contribute to clogged pores which lead to spots. The sterile blade is angled at 45 degrees, and dragged slowly across the surface of your skin. This process removes dead cells, scar tissue and soft facial hair that traps dirt and oil.

We advise using medical grade skincare products alongside your dermaplaning treatment, to allow your products to penetrate the skin more deeply.

What is Dermaplaning used to treat?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Dull, tired skin

  • Blocked pores

  • Peach fuzz

One of the biggest benefits of Dermaplaning is a much smoother complexion to apply make up to, creating a more flawless look.

Am I suitable for Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning can be used on all skin types, except those with active or deep cystic acne. It is a great treatment for anyone with dry skin, fine lines, pigmentation and acne scarring and is particularly beneficial for ageing skin to assist with cell turnover.

It’s recommended that any breakouts clear before undergoing this treatment, and is not recommended for anyone on blood thinning medication, with a history of bleeding disorders, diabetes, cancer, psoriasis or eczema.

Does Dermaplaning hurt?

Dermaplaning is completely pain free, with no recovery time!

How long Does Dermaplaning last?

The treatment itself will take between 30 minutes to 1 hour, and the results are instant. We recommend repeating this treatment every 4-6 weeks. And let’s bust the biggest myth of them all - Dermaplaning DOES NOT make your hair grow back like stubble!
