Skin Rejuvenation

Our aesthetics team are trained in a range of skin rejuvenation therapies which mean that they can tailor make the right treatment from you and flex treatments to include a range of methods of rejuvenation combining perhaps peels and microdermabrasion or peels and microneedling for better results.

We use 4 key ways of rejuvenating skin over longer time periods.  These are; Fibroblast (Plasma), Microneedling, Laser rejuvenation and Chemical Peels.

Each method has its own unique benefits and results and certain treatments are better for particular areas.

Fibroblast (Plasma) ‘Non-Surgical Face Lifts’

Tiny little marks are made on the skin using a tiny sterile plasma probe in the area being treated. The result is that the points cause the skin to tighten and excess skin begins to disappear producing amazing eyelid tightening and eyelid smoothing.  Therefore eliminating wrinkles and excessive skin over the eyes or under the chin without surgery.  The elasticity of the skin is improved once healing is complete.

In contrast to conventional surgery, the skin cannot be ‘overlifted’. The technology used means that once the skin has reached maximum lifting point, it just stops working. So it is guaranteed that only the natural excess skin is reduced.. The results are instant and visible during the treatment itself, these results remain long after the healing process has finished which can take 5-10 days.

Microneedling

Microneedling using Dermapen is a revolutionary micro-needling treatment that stimulates the skin’s healing response encouraging the production of precious growth factors, collagen and elastin for a naturally rejuvenated, revitalised and regenerated skin.

Dermapen can effectively treat hard-to-reach places like around the eyes, nose and lips.

It is ideal for:

  • fine lines,

  • wrinkles,

  • surgical, acne and trauma scars,

  • stretch marks,

  • pigmentation.

And can be combined with Hyaluronic acid, Vitamin Solutions or Platelet Rich Plasma (liquid gold) for different results. This method of needling in conjunction with supportive products offers unparalleled collagen induction therapy by harnessing the body's innate ability to re-grow and repair the skin where a series of needles penetrate the skin causing thousands of micro injuries at a vertical angle. It promotes scarless healing and natural collagen reproduction, similar to fractional laser treatments, IPL but without the side effects and downtime.  Improving skin tone and texture and giving a gentle glow, fading wrinkles and lines, tightening the skin and treating scarring from acne or other damage.  This is a great treatment (about a week) before a big event but the best results are seen with courses of treatments and mixed with chemical peels.

Laser (IPL)

Intense Pulsed Light can be used for many indications.  It is the basis of hair removal to any part of the body, when applied it causes the hair follicles to be gently heated and destroyed, preventing the hair regrowing.  However IPL has a variety of indications,  As the wavelength is adjusted it will remove hyper-pigmentation from the skin, age spots, soften rosacea, boost collagen and remove thread veins.  When used for acne it destroys the bacteria causing the spots and within 4 months of treatment significant improvements should be seen.  Courses are required at regular intervals for maximum effect.

Chemical Peels - AlumierMD - use code B0CF906A to purchase your skincare online

A chemical peel is a treatment used to improve skin texture and tone. An acid is applied to skin to lower the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, inducing exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. This process causes superficial layers of dead skin to peel off, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion. Chemical peels can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume and stimulate collagen.

Chemical peels have been used dating back to Ancient Egypt. Cleopatra used sour milk to improve the appearance of her skin, according to some sources. Lactic acid (an alpha hydroxy acid) is the active ingredient in sour milk.

Skin Tags and Age Spots

Sometimes IPL is just not enough or just not quite the right thing.  We will advise you on this.  Short wave diathermy can be the best option to remove skin tags, warts and moles.  We will ask for a doctor's note to ensure moles are suitable for treatment.   Removal is a very quick process where the offending blemish is simply removed with a fine needle.
